The sound emerged as I passed on the way I work with painting to Hanjoo. Based on the original composition—“Winter,” Concerto No. 4 in F minor from The Four Seasons by Antonio Vivaldi (violin and direction: Shunske Sato; recorded on October 7, 2016, at the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ, Amsterdam)—Hanjoo imitated the orchestra using only his own voice.
I imagined painting shedding its own body, and began producing high-resolution scanned images that lick the surface of painting with light.
The project was produced with support from the Korea National University of Arts Performance and Exhibition Center and was presented privately in 2021.
소리는 내가 회화를 취급하는 방식을 한주에게 이양하면서 발생했다. 안토니오 비발디의 「사계」 중 「겨울」 F단조 제4협주곡(2016년 10월 7일 암스테르담 Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ에서 슌스케 사토가 지휘 및 연주한 녹음)을 원곡으로 삼아, 한주는 자신의 목소리만으로 오케스트라를 모방했다. 나는 회화가 자신의 육체를 벗어나는 일을 상상했고, 그림의 표면을 빛으로 핥아내는 고해상도의 스캔 이미지를 만들기 시작했다. 프로젝트는 한국예술종합학교 공연전시센터의 지원으로 제작되었으며, 2021년 비공개로 발표된 적이 있다.
